A top 20 Tax & Accountancy Firm based in Reading is looking for an Expatriate Tax or Global Mobility Tax Senior Manager.
This role provides an opportunity for an experienced global mobility or employment tax professional to take a leading position in delivering high-quality advisory services to a diverse client portfolio. You will act as a trusted senior advisor, ensuring excellent service delivery, strong client relationships, and effective risk management.
The position combines technical leadership, client management, business development, and people management, making it well suited to an individual seeking a senior role within a growing and ambitious tax practice.
Key Responsibilities Client and Project Delivery- Serve as the primary employment tax contact for key clients, with responsibility for quality, risk management, and service delivery
- Anticipate client needs, respond promptly to requests, and maintain regular communication on project progress
- Build, manage, and develop a client portfolio, including responsibility for billing and cash collection in line with firm policies
- Support tax planning and complex advisory work in collaboration with senior leadership
- Identify and pursue new business and growth opportunities with senior support
- Recognise and leverage marketing and profile-raising opportunities
- Develop and maintain strong internal and external networks to generate a sustainable pipeline of work
- Provide support to senior leaders on client matters and operational management
- Contribute to recruitment, performance management, and staff development activities
- Collaborate with other senior team members across the organisation
- Participate actively in management meetings and team initiatives
- Delegate effectively and support the technical and professional development of junior colleagues
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance guidance
- Build and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders and wider client teams
- Act as a professional ambassador for the firm
- Coordinate with internal specialist teams to deliver integrated client solutions
- Contribute to internal and external training sessions, seminars, and events
- Consult with colleagues and leadership on technical, compliance, and risk matters
- Strong, up-to-date knowledge of employment and wider tax legislation
- Specialist expertise in managing complex tax matters and advisory projects
- Proven ability to manage substantial client portfolios profitably
- Experience working with senior client management teams
- Demonstrated success in developing new client relationships and expanding existing accounts
- Experience leading and delivering complex projects
- Proven people management and team leadership experience
- Ability to motivate, develop, and retain high-performing teams
- Strong delegation, coaching, and performance management capability
- Degree-level education and/or CTA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Demonstrable post-qualification experience
- Strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
- Proactive, organised, and resilient approach to workload management
