Responsibilities
  • To ensure that all work from the payroll team is completed in an accurate and timely manner, with all payments and deductions being made in accordance with the policies, rules and regulations of the organisation, AFC and GMC T&C s, the Inland Revenue and NHS Pensions Agency.
  • To ensure that monthly payroll checking processes and procedures are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • To ensure monthly HMRC RTI returns are submitted online by the required timetable, after ensuring that the payroll data and RTI reports are reconciled accordingly.
  • To work in conjunction with the Head & Deputy Head of Payroll Services to ensure policies and procedures exist (and if not, develop them) and are followed both within and outside their section of Payroll Services to ensure that both statutory and local regulations are adhered to and service provision is of the highest professional standard.
Requirements
  • More than 5 years NHS payroll experience
  • Good knowledge of ESR
  • Good knowledge of AFC, GMC and HMRC statutory regulations

  • People management, leadership and team skills, staff and self development
