Job Overview

Are you a professional Sonographer with a commitment to first class patient care and the drive to work within a high performing team? .

The Ultrasound service is Sonographer led, receiving referrals from GPs, outpatients, wards and the Emergency Department. The department also provides the lithotripsy service, for which full training is provided.

This opportunity would appeal to those looking to develop their General Ultrasound skills and gain experience across a range of complex case. We would also welcome applicants with MSK experience.

We offer preceptorship from band 7 to 8A on successful completion of clinical and managerial competencies. Please contact us for additional information.

The successful candidate will have a professional and practical attitude to their work with strong imaging and reporting skills. They will be comfortable working under pressure, 'multi-tasking' and liaising with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential with current/recent NHS experience to work both autonomously and in a team environment

Main duties of the job

  • To be an effective member of the Ultrasound team, providing a high quality, comprehensive and efficient Ultrasound service to patients and referring clinicians; to include the timely issue of diagnostic reports, based on Ultrasound findings.
  • To undertake all aspects of work in the Ultrasound Department, as appropriate to grade, including the supervision and mentoring of more junior staff
