Senior Occupational Therapist - Mental Health Social Care Team

Overview

Reading Borough Council is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Social Care Mental Health Team. The role involves developing creative ways of working within a reablement model and supporting clients with diagnosed mental health conditions.

• Hold a varied caseload and contribute to team performance.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Record client progress on Mosaic and contribute project data to the Transformation Team.
• Stand back, observe, encourage and prompt clients to learn new or relearn lost skills after mental health crises or hospital stays.

• Senior Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in mental health.
• Experience or knowledge of SMART goal setting, reablement, strength-based outcomes, positive risk taking.
• Strong communication, negotiation and collaboration skills.
• Experience working closely with other agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
