We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Huntercombe, a category C Prison located in Oxfordshire. HMP Huntercombe is a male prison housing 520 foreign nationals. We are recruiting for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant to support the wide Pharmacy team consisting of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

Shift patterns:
Monday – Friday 07:45 – 17:30 / Weekends 08:30 – 16:30

The hourly rate is £15.80 per hour.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK. Offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks due to the nature of the role.

• Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
• Act as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
• Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
• Receive prescriptions and stick returns from wing-based clinical areas
• Collect orders from suppliers at the Main Gate and arrange collection of return
• Participate in dispensing of prescriptions

• NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
• Medicines handling experience desirable not essential
• Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment
• Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
