Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Experienced Rotational Occupational Therapist for the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.

Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week (some weekend working involved)
Salary: £38,682 – £46,580 per annum

Job OverviewAre you passionate about delivering high quality, patient‑centred care and keen to develop your occupational therapy knowledge and skills? The Therapy Department is an aspirational team, with strong relationships with Physiotherapy colleagues and opportunities for leadership at Band 6 level.
Rotations Include- Orthopaedics (elective and trauma) and Surgery (planned and emergency)
- Paediatrics
- Medicine (Cardiac, Renal, Respiratory, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Gastro, Haematology and Oncology)
- Elderly Care, including the Hip Fragility Unit
- Front Door Services (Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit and Short Stay Unit)
- Acute Stroke Unit
- Early Supported Discharge (ESD) Service
- Provide specialist occupational therapy support for patients within the Trust and manage own caseload of complex conditions as an autonomous practitioner.
- Participate in operational management and clinical leadership with the Band 7 Team Lead and/or Advanced Specialist OT.
- Deliver high quality, effective and efficient occupational therapy services in designated areas.
- Contribute to planning, policy development and share best practice within the Therapy Department.
- Deputise for the Band 7 Team Lead/Advanced Specialist as required.
Essential Criteria
- Car driver with UK driving licence, able to drive pool car for access visits.
- Degree or other recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Post‑graduate specialist experience (CPD, evidence‑based projects, postgraduate teaching).
- HCP Registered.
- Specialist post‑graduate experience in a broad range of conditions (elderly care, medical, neurological, musculoskeletal, orthopaedic or surgical).
- Experience of teaching and presenting to staff.
- Experience of supervising and developing other staff and students.
- BSc OT.
- Specialist knowledge in a related area.
- Member of a related Clinical Interest Group.
- Research or audit experience.
- Training and presentation skills.
