Regional Assistant Finance Manager - South

We are looking for a Regional Assistant Finance Manager to join our Health in Justice Team!

Practice Plus Group is the UK's leading independent provider of NHS services to patients in secure environments (prisons, immigration removal centres, non-custodial services) and Integrated Urgent Care – NHS 111, Out-of-Hours and Clinical Assessment Centres.

Job summary

Full‑time role, Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm.

Location:

Reading – Theale (with work‑from‑home opportunities and travel to sites across the South region). Salary up to £41,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As our new Regional Assistant Finance Manager, some of your duties will include:

  • Supporting Senior Finance Manager and Finance Managers with management accounting and reporting for operating units, including month‑end accounting entries, preparation of financial and non‑financial information, and detailed commentaries.
  • Supporting annual budgeting processes for the operating units.
  • Assisting the management, implementation, and compliance with financial control policies and processes across the units, including monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting internal and external audit requirements.
Qualifications and experience
  • Part‑qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or AAT qualified.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Understanding of the demands placed on the organisation working extensively with public sector bodies.
  • Hands‑on experience using an ERP accounting system (Unit4 Business World/Agresso; Vena an advantage).
