We are seeking a highly skilled, data‑curious and motivated FP&A specialist to join our Group FP&A Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing in‑depth analysis and second‑line assurance of divisional financial information, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data and forecasts across the organisation and alignment to organisational strategy.
What you will be doing as FP&A Senior Analyst- Preparation and management of a new short‑term (13‑week) cashflow forecast built on a receipts and payments basis, which will be used to forecast and manage liquidity and therefore inform external funding requirements. This will require liaison and partnering with various departments across Finance and the business to deliver an accurate forecast.
- Responsible for supporting the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and long‑term strategic planning processes for the business as a whole.
- Understanding of cashflow performance and providing insights on overall position, including risks and opportunities for better cash management, particularly about working capital.
- Work closely with the FP&A Manager (Cashflow & Balance Sheet), and the wider Group FP&A team, supporting the delivery of significant improvements in efficiency and quality of financial planning and reporting processes.
- A Qualified Accountant with experience in the FP&A function with a proven track record in ‘adding value’.
- Experience in cash flow modelling, including working capital management, on a short‑term and medium/long‑term basis, including both direct and indirect cash flow forecasting.
- Excellent knowledge of providing financial insight, preparing annual plans, forecasts and knowing what good looks like.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools.
- Excellent problem‑solving capabilities with a curious and creative mindset to exploring patterns and extracting meaningful insights, and a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of financial principles, practises and reporting standards is highly desirable. Experience and expertise in analysing and reporting cash flows are a plus.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to create complex models and impactful presentations.
- System experience with HFM, SAP and SAC.
- Experience with in the utilities, infrastructure, or construction industries.
