Position: Financial Reporting Accountant (13 month FTC)

Overview

Are you a qualified finance professional (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong background in statutory reporting and financial controls? This is your chance to lead a financial reporting team within a purpose-driven organisation that's making a real difference.

The Role

As Senior Financial Accountant, you ll play a key role in ensuring compliance, governance, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the year-end accounting process to produce statutory and consolidated financial statements.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors, ensuring all audit requirements are met.
  • Managing monthly balance sheet reviews, analytical reporting, and developing robust controls and processes.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns, corporation tax declarations, and other statutory submissions.
  • Providing technical expertise on accounting, VAT, and tax matters while supporting process improvements.
  • Producing short- and long-term cash flow forecasts to inform investment decisions.
  • Contributing to strategic finance projects and deputising for the Financial Controller when required.
What We re Looking For
  • Professional

    Qualification:

    ACA/ACCA/CIMA essential.
  • Experience: Proven track record in statutory reporting, financial analysis, and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK GAAP, VAT regulations, and financial systems.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities with advanced Excel skills.
  • Attributes: A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
