Financial Accountant

Reading - 3 days in office per week

£60,000-£70,000 + benefits

We Do Group is supporting a scaling commercial services business with the hire of a Financial Accountant

A newly created role due to growth, you will be joining an established organisation and finance team to add extra experience and bandwidth. You'll work closely with the Head of Finance and transactional finance colleagues as well as gain exposure to the wider operational teams in the business.

We are looking for an experienced, fully qualified accounting professional who has had experience delivering accurate month end and year end accounting to deadline.

The Role

The successful Financial Accountant will lead the following:

  • Support the Head of Finance in the month end close process
  • Take ownership of the accounting for the main business entity
  • Prepare monthly reporting packs and support / business partner key cost centres of the business
  • Support the transactional finance team with complex/unusual transactions
  • Produce detailed Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Support the Budgeting and forecasting process
  • Write reports and conduct searches in the ERP system
  • Cover for transactional team absences and peaks including but not limited to: bank reconciliation, payment runs, sales and purchase ledger control
  • Assist with Audit, Tax and VAT preparation
  • Cover for Payroll
  • Support the various projects in the team driving better use of the ERP and other process improvements
  • Lead on set projects as directed by the Head of Finance or CFO
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance as required

Your Profile

We are looking for an experienced, fully qualified, accounting professional who has worked with in small/medium sized organisations and appreciates the need to muck in when required.

The business culture is fast paced and energetic so you'll need to have the ability to work at pace, challenge internal and stakeholders when appropriate and pro-actively seek improvements wherever possible.

Salary & Benefits

£60,000 - £70,000 per annum plus pension and benefits.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week in the office. The office is easily accessible by car or bus routes.
