Management Accountant – ACCA Careers

We are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join a team near Reading, contributing to the Renewable Energy industry. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in month‑end finance processes to support the Sneior Finance Manager in strategic decision making.

• Support the Senior Finance Manager to ensure that monthly and annual responsibilities are satisfied in line with expectations.
• Supporting transactional information eg purchase order & invoice processing, expenses, weekly bank reconciliations.
• Take ownership of the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Assist in preparation and posting of monthly journals (eg prepayments & accruals).
• Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist the annual tax, accounting, and audit year-end processes.
• Assist in execution of activities detailed on monthly to-do lists (eg VAT returns, CIS returns)
• Support in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the Group.
• Assist in monthly/ quarterly project meetings‑Business development, 'EPC' projects & 'O&M' sites.
• Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the finance team and other departments.
• Provide ad hoc senior support to the junior members of the team.

• Demonstrable expertise in month end processes and management accounts.
• Actively studying either ACCA or CIMA to part‑qualified or finalist level. Qualified by experience will be considered.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations relevant to the Energy & Natural Resources industry.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
