Role:
Finance Business Partner Manager

Pay Rate: £45.50 per hour PAYE, paid holiday and pension contributions
Hours: 35-37 per week

Contract Length: 12 months
Location:
Aldermaston Reading

Hybrid working: 4 days per week/2 days requirement to be on site
Security Clearance: DV

Our Client is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner Manager to lead and direct the activities of a CFO Finance functional team, covering Financial Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Compliance and Finance Systems.

This role provides leadership, governance and insight-driven financial support to the business, ensuring high-quality financial outputs, effective stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement across finance processes.

The postholder will lead and develop a high-performing team, foster collaborative business partnering, and support the organisation in achieving its strategic and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver all assigned financial activities to agreed time, cost and quality standards
  • Develop and deliver the functional finance strategy and drive performance against objectives
  • Provide strong leadership, line and task management in line with organisational values
  • Guide, coach and develop team members to ensure capability, performance and engagement
  • Maintain robust internal financial control and governance frameworks
  • Lead and enable process improvement and innovation across financial activities
  • Support development and implementation of finance policies, processes and procedures
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviours aligned with mid-level leadership expectations
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration and a positive working culture
  • Oversee the timely provision of accurate and reliable financial information
  • Ensure appropriate analysis, interpretation and insight is provided to support decision-making
  • Establish, monitor and report on compliance with financial processes and controls
  • Safeguard the integrity of financial data and outputs produced by the team
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders and programme leaders
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting and forward-planning activity across supported business areas
  • Review and assure the quality of financial analysis and reporting
  • Provide leadership, training and development to Finance Managers and Finance Analysts
  • Plan, coordinate and prioritise team deliverables to meet business needs
  • Lead by example to build a motivated, high-performing finance team#
Your Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted adviser to business and programme teams
  • Translate financial data into meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Support operational and strategic decision-making through effective collaboration
  • Engage proactively with Project and Programme Managers, escalating issues when required
  • Constructively challenge and influence stakeholders to drive value-focused outcomes
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Quickly understand complex financial and operational detail
  • Provide clear direction to a team with varied experience and working styles
  • Support long-standing team members through change and new ways of working
  • Build team cohesion and ensure consistent, high-quality outputs

Essential Requirements
  • Strong leadership and people management experience within a finance function
  • Proven experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, accounting and financial governance
  • Experience of working in a finance business partnering capacity
  • Ability to interpret financial information and communicate insights effectively
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Track record of driving process improvement and embedding best practice
Desirables
  • Experience working in complex, programme-driven or engineering environments
  • Exposure to finance systems leadership or optimisation initiatives
