My client is a well‑established, forward‑thinking engineering consultancy with a strong presence across the UK. They are recognised for delivering innovative flood risk and drainage solutions across residential, commercial and infrastructure developments. With a growing pipeline of surface water projects, they are now looking to appoint a Principal Flood Modeller to strengthen their Reading‑based team.

• Lead and deliver surface water flood modelling projects from inception through to completion
• Develop and review 1D/2D hydraulic models using TUFLOW and Flood Modeller
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and modellers
• Liaise with Local Authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities and other key stakeholders
• Review model outputs, reports and technical documentation to ensure high‑quality deliverables

• Proven experience in surface water flood modelling
• Strong working knowledge of TUFLOW and Flood Modeller
• An understanding of UK flood risk policy and guidance
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geography or a related discipline
• Chartered or working towards Chartered status would be advantageous but is not essential
