Supplier Quality Engineer
Location:
Reading Office/Hybrid with travel to sites
Hours:
7:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Our client is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join their busy QESH team. Reporting to the Quality Engineer Team Lead and working closely with the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will support the effective management of supplier and product quality across our client's product range. The role will contribute to minimising quality issues and driving continuous improvement throughout the supply chain and wider business.
This position requires regular on-site presence and travel within the supply chain.
Your role as Supplier Quality Engineer
Quality Management & Continuous Improvement
Support the Quality Manager with the day-to-day management of supply chain and product quality
Coordinate the logging, investigation, and closure of Non-Conformance Reports, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented
Support Corrective Action Requests and Root Cause Analysis activities
Coordinate the communication of technical files and specifications to internal stakeholders and suppliers
Promote QESH principles and a strong customer focus across the organisation
Track and follow quality actions through to full closure
Support rework activities on site where non-conformances are identified in delivered products
Audits & Reporting
Conduct internal and supplier audits across the business and supply chain
Prepare comprehensive reports following supplier visits and audits
Ensure audits are completed within agreed timescales and closed out in line with corrective action plans
Quality Performance
Monitor and verify supplier quality KPIs, including:
Timely completion and close-out of audits
Completion of assigned tasks in line with agreed deadlines
Effective and timely resolution of non-conformance reports
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience in a Quality role within manufacturing, engineering, or construction environments
Working knowledge of ISOawareness of BS EN 1090, ISOand ISO advantageous)
Experience working within an external supply chain environment
Mechanical engineering and assembly experience desirable
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation within manufacturing environments advantageous
Willingness to travel extensively as required
Full UK Driving Licence essential
CSCS (SMSTS or SSSTS preferred)
Engineering qualification (graduate level desirable but not essential)
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification (Lead Auditor advantageous)
Health & Safety qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH desirable)
Formal Risk Assessment training advantageous
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Competent in interpreting technical and engineering drawings
Comfortable working in KPI-driven, performance-focused teams
