Your Impact

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Transport Planning Director to join our Reading transport planning team, part of our London and South East regional group of over 100 transport planners. You will lead the technical delivery of major projects, guiding teams through feasibility studies, optioneering, and development of Transport Assessments and Business Cases. Your deep understanding of transport policy, regional strategies, and scheme development will help us create sustainable, future‑ready solutions.

You will manage client relationships, build strong portfolios with local authorities, national bodies and TfL, mentor junior colleagues, and lead the adoption of emerging technologies such as electric vehicles and digital demand‑responsive transport.

Qualifications
  • A degree or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Geography, Economics or related field.
  • Proven track record leading technical delivery of transport planning projects in a client-facing role.
  • Experience in client engagement and business development, establishing repeat business.
  • Flexibility to manage diverse workloads, support new business, and embrace emerging technologies.
  • Ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and work independently to solve problems.
  • Understanding of project and client management covering programme, resources, finance and quality control.
