Environmental Management and Permitting Specialist
Provide technical advice and support in environmental permitting, management systems, and compliance services to clients across a range of sectors including water utilities, chemicals and manufacturing in the UK, Ireland and Europe. Work as an integral part of a specialist environmental management and compliance team, scoping and cultivating technical or innovative solutions to improve the performance of client organisations in relation to environmental management, compliance, governance, auditing and permitting.
Responsibilities- Assess client processes and procedures and draft permit applications, including completing relevant documentation such as BAT assessments and management plans.
- Provide technical expertise and advice in relation to environmental management systems and deliver compliance auditing services.
- Liaise with regulators to ensure successful outcomes for clients.
- Foster strong and trusting relationships across diverse client teams.
- Directly influence environmental outcomes, community value and long‑term sustainability.
- Develop networks internally and externally, maintain positive client relationships and contribute to business development activities where appropriate.
- Take accountability and ownership of time, cost and quality of project outcomes.
- Graduate or MSc in Environmental Science, Geography, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully producing and delivering environmental permits for utilities and major infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing and delivering best available techniques (BAT) assessments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills in the provision of environmental management support to infrastructure and design projects.
