Stantec has an excellent opportunity for a talented, high calibre, dynamic and accomplished Chartered Structural Engineer to help lead and grow our Structural Engineering division. To support our ambitious growth plans, we are now seeking a Structural Team Lead to join us in any of our South Water offices. The successful candidate will provide regional leadership, possess a high level of technical competency, engender trust, and exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills befitting of this senior role.

A driven and dedicated leader who makes firm effective decisions and has a collaborative, determined mindset to create workable, pragmatic and fair plans that will be seen as the right solution. The individual will need a hands‑on approach to project delivery using state‑of‑the‑art technology and provide effective leadership, mentoring and supervision to the team. The ability to travel is fundamental, with regular travel to meet with the Structural Team in High Wycombe, London, Manchester and Bristol.

Deliverables And Accountabilities
  • Provide leadership, line management and develop the Group as a team.
  • Provide technical expertise in structural design to meet project needs using state‑of‑the‑art techniques.
  • Drive integrated work with Pune for better collaboration.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards.
  • Possess the ability to influence others through technical knowledge and communication skills.
  • Plan, forecast, and coordinate resources with group managers efficiently.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge of survey, design, drafting, project and contract management standards and techniques.
  • Liaise with internal and external clients to engender trust and confidence in the Structural Group’s capability.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff, including training within specific areas of responsibility and expertise as needed.
  • Review and check the work of others, focusing on important priorities.
  • Provide ongoing development and mentoring for team members across the region.
  • Build internal and external relationships with new clients and key stakeholders.
  • Adopt a hands‑on approach to project delivery.
About You

You will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or another relevant subject with knowledge and experience in water retaining structures.

You will be a Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution (e.g. IStruct

E, ICE) with practical, hands‑on and up‑to‑date experience in Structural Engineering, water engineering or a similar industry.

You will have experience in managing and mentoring junior staff, fostering their professional development. You will oversee project budgets and timelines for the structural engineering aspects. You will prepare and review technical documents, reports, and proposals.
