We’re looking for an Energy & Carbon Analyst to join our Energy Strategy & Reporting Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a numerically minded analyst or graduate who thrives on working with data, enjoys solving complex problems and wants to build a career in energy, renewables and sustainability.

What you’ll be doing as an Energy & Carbon Analyst

This is a data-heavy, cross-business role supporting both our Water and Wastewater operations. You’ll take ownership of renewable generation reporting and regulatory compliance, helping the business secure and protect over £12.4m in generation incentives annually.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading weekly, monthly and annual performance reporting of renewable generation data.
  • Compiling and validating electricity, fuel and heat data from our fleet of CHP engines, boilers and flares.
  • Preparing estimated data methodologies, responding to regulatory queries and supporting audits.
  • Support reporting into regulatory schemes, including CHP QA, Greenhouse Gas Reporting, Environmental Permit (IED) Reporting, Office for National Statistics returns, UK ETS, NDRHI and ISCC.
  • Identifying and resolving missing or inaccurate metering data in collaboration with meter operators and site teams.
  • Acting as the key contact for operational energy data queries.
  • Continuously improving reporting processes and supporting the development of new reports.

You’ll work closely with a team of energy specialists, alongside operational colleagues and regulators, helping to ensure full compliance with renewable generation legislation.

Working pattern: 36 Hours, Monday to Friday

What you should bring to the role
  • Strong analytical background.
  • Experience in energy management or performance reporting.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive mindset.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and drive energy and carbon reporting requirements to support operational and financial targets.
  • Degree in a numerical degree or relevant qualification. (i.e. Sciences, Maths, Geography, Environmental etc.) - will consider graduates.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and energy regulation.
  • Experience with PI, Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Optima or similar energy management software is beneficial but not necessary.
