Learning Support Assistant – Reading
Are you looking to gain hands on experience in a specialist setting? Are you a recent graduate dreaming of becoming a future Psychologist? A unique and friendly Special School in Reading are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to help their pupils with special educational needs. The students at the school have a range of needs, including Autism, learning difficulties, speech and language needs and mental health challenges.
Responsibilities- Set boundaries in the classroom and help pupils understand the value of education.
- Support pupils in recognizing and managing their emotional needs, ensuring they feel safe and supported.
- Manage challenging behaviour that arises as a result of the student's needs.
- Provide pastoral support to students.
- Act as a positive role model, setting an example for all pupils.
- Graduate in Psychology, Criminology or Sociology.
- Knowledge of atypical behaviour and development.
- Previous experience working with children or adults with additional needs (professional or personal).
- Restorative practices.
- Positive reinforcement.
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health support.
Graduate Opportunity.
£85 – £100 per day.
