SCHOOL VACANCY

York High School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our Inclusion Team, supporting students with special educational needs.

This is an opportunity for a skilled individual to work in a key post that contributes directly to the care of young people at the school. Your role will be focused upon supporting struggling readers through targeted interventions to remove barriers and allow them to unlock the curriculum. This highly rewarding role will include both working with individual students as well as small groups.

Requirements:
You will have GCSE English and maths qualifications at grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications, and experience of working with children or young people. You will have good communication skills with the ability to build appropriate relationships with a range of staff, students and their families. A Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning and/or further qualifications are desirable.
