A Special Needs School for children with disabilities is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate to join their team as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This is the perfect opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain experience working with individuals with learning difficulties and mental health challenges.
Responsibilities- Support children aged 3 to 18 with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and physical disabilities.
- Work with a diverse age range to tailor classroom approaches to individual needs and provide emotional and academic support.
- Assist with learning activities in Maths and English and help equip pupils with life skills, including social, interpersonal and independent living skills.
- Contribute to the school’s approach to learning, which includes activities such as art, music, cooking and outdoor education.
As a recent University Graduate, this is a ideal opportunity to gain experience in the field of SEN and mental health. Psychology or Criminology graduates can apply knowledge from their degree to classroom scenarios. This role offers first-hand experience to support future training as a Psychologist, Counsellor, Therapist or Teacher.
