Duties will include assisting children during lessons on a 1:1 basis; ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times; supporting them with their activities at break times; working alongside teachers and other professionals to ensure that special educational needs are met; managing complex behaviours; encouraging children to develop and improve their social skills and learn to demonstrate a positive behaviour…
Requirements:
Previous experience of supporting children or young adults in a residential or educational setting.
Experience in any of the following :
Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities, ADHD,ADD, Mental Health and Challenging Behaviour.
Knowledge in the areas of Educational and Behavioural Disorder in Children, Mental wellbeing in Children, Safeguarding of Children.
Experience in 1:1 support and the ability to manage own workload.
NVQ qualification in Children and Young People is an advantage.
Outgoing, positive attitude, empathy and passion to make a difference to children’s lives.
Being an agency worker, travelling to various assignments it would be desirable to have a driving licence and access to a car.
