An outstanding specialist primary SEMH school in Reading, Berkshire is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with children aged 4-11, alongside on-site psychologists, therapists and counsellors, within a highly supportive and well-resourced setting.

About the Role

Position:
Mental Health Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant

Start Date:

ASAP

Hours:

Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:30am-3:45pm)
Pay: £85-£105 per day

Location:

Reading, Berkshire

You will provide consistent, child-centred support to pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to regulate emotions, manage behaviour, and access learning in a safe and nurturing environment.

The Ideal Candidate
A graduate in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or a related field (other degrees considered)
Passionate about supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs
Resilient, confident and calm when managing challenging behaviour
Proactive, adaptable and able to use initiative
Previous SEN or care experience is desirable but not essential

(Experience can include schools, care work, youth work, volunteering, or personal experience)
