Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND School in Reading. The role supports primary and secondary‑aged pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties and other complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with PMLD and complex SEND needs.
  • Assist with learning activities tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide personal care, including nappy changing for pupils of all ages.
  • Assist with mobility, sensory activities and daily routines.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff.
  • Promote dignity, comfort and independence wherever possible.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people with PMLD or complex needs (school or care setting).
  • Comfortable providing personal care, including nappy changing, to pupils of all ages.
  • Patient, caring and respectful approach.
  • Ability to follow care plans and support medical or physical needs.
  • Reliable, resilient and able to work as part of a team.

Working Conditions

Hours:

Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–3:30 pm.

Contract:

Term‑time only / Ongoing. This is a temporary position unless stated otherwise.
