Job DescriptionThe post holder will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary medical care to the practice population. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, the Salaried GP will deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based care while contributing to continuity of care, clinical governance, and service development within the practice.
The role offers flexibility, a structured induction, and strong clinical and administrative support.
Clinical Responsibilities- Provide general medical services to patients, including face-to-face, telephone, and digital consultations
- Manage a dedicated patient list, based on approximately 250 patients per session
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with NICE, local, and national guidance
- Review and action clinical correspondence, pathology results, and investigations in a timely manner
- Provide continuity of care and appropriate follow-up for patients
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff, pharmacists, paramedics, and wider PCN colleagues
- Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and shared decision-making
- Support trainees, students, and new staff where appropriate
- Contribute to clinical governance activities, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in significant event analysis and learning
- Maintain accurate, clear, and contemporaneous clinical records
- Comply with CQC, GMC, and NHS requirements
- Maintain GMC registration and revalidation requirements
- Engage in annual appraisal and ongoing CPD
- Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and professional standards
- Support the practice's commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Structured induction for all new salaried GPs
