Water Business Development Manager
We are seeking an experienced and driven Water Business Development Manager to support the growth of our water testing and inspection services. This role plays a key part in our expansion strategy, helping us deliver compliance, risk management, remedial works, and consultancy services to an expanding client portfolio. You’ll work towards clear targets with a competitive salary and commission structure.

Backed by industry‑leading experts in legionella management and compliance, we deliver consultancy, legionella risk assessments, water treatment, monitoring, and training across all aspects of water hygiene and legionella control.
This is a hybrid role, ideally suited to candidates based in the Reading/Thames Valley region.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and engage prospective clients through inbound and outbound sales, converting leads into long‑term relationships
- Collaborate with our marketing team on targeted lead‑generation campaigns
- Follow up on inbound leads from PPC and online marketing activity
- Maintain accurate sales records within Salesforce to support forecasting and strategic planning
- Work with internal teams to prepare accurate pricing, proposals, and service information
- Negotiate contracts and successfully close deals that deliver value for both clients and the business
- Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets, with excellent opportunities for career progression
- Ideally a member of WMSOC
- Proactive, resilient, and driven, with the ability to excel in a fast‑paced sales environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident engaging customers via phone, email, and face‑to‑face
- Excellent relationship‑building skills with the ability to nurture long‑term partnerships
- Experience in transactional sales, including cold calling and generating leads through market tools
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, capable of identifying opportunities and closing deals
- Highly self‑motivated, able to work independently and within a collaborative tea
- Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office
- Passionate about business development, sales, and the environmental/water sector, with a desire for continuous learning
