Forklift Operator Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, inspect, and process incoming shipments to verify accuracy, quality, and documentation.
- Accurately label, tag, and store products in designated warehouse locations according to established procedures.
- Pick, pack, stage, and ship products in alignment with work orders, customer orders, and distribution schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, discrepancies, or quality concerns to leadership.
- Perform cycle counts and assist with monthly, quarterly, or annual physical inventories.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company and OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of all warehouse areas including storage, aisles, docks, and staging zones.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO and other inventory rotation principles to ensure proper stock management.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments while ensuring accuracy and damage prevention.
- Accurately record all inventory movements and transactions within the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP system.
- Complete required documentation such as shipping manifests, bills of lading, receiving logs, and inventory reports per company procedures.
- Identify, report, and escalate damaged goods, equipment issues, inventory discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior warehouse, distribution, or material handling experience preferred.
- Pallet jack and forklift experience.
- Basic computer or scanner skills (ERP/WMS experience a plus).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
