Maintenance Mechanic

This is a union position that will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery. Reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Works safely and complies with all mill safety policies.

* Completes yearly safety training.

* Performs preventive maintenance work on equipment, documenting any findings.

* Supports regular machine maintenance as assigned.

* Repairs broken equipment quickly and efficiently.

* Performs equipment rebuild work as assigned.

* Collaborates with managers to recommend any potential improvements.

* On-Call responsibilities shared with other maintenance mechanics

* Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

* Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

* Technical Knowledge

* Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems

* Pumps

* Bearings/Rotating Equipment

* Equipment Rebuilds (pumps, bearings, etc.)

* Rigging

* SAP experience a plus

* Pulp & Paper experience a plus

* Works well independently and with others.

* Good communication skills.

* Organized with attention to detail.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

* 2 years industrial mechanical maintenance work experience

* Some vocational or community college with related coursework, a plus

Physical Requirements:

* Prolonged periods standing and walking.

* Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

* Must be able to visually inspect machines.

* Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
