The Assistant Compliance Officer plays a critical role in supporting the Bank’s Compliance Management Program (CMP) by coordinating internal audits, monitoring findings, and ensuring timely resolution of compliance issues.
This position helps maintain adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, and serves as a resource to business units on regulatory matters.
The Compliance Officer also assists in implementing compliance initiatives and supports the VP, Compliance Officer in strategic compliance efforts.

This position helps maintain adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, and serves as a resource to business units on regulatory matters. The Compliance Officer also assists in implementing compliance initiatives and supports the VP, Compliance Officer in strategic compliance efforts.
ComplianceProgram Support
- Assists in the design, execution, and maintenance of the bank’s Compliance Management System (CMS).
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and support the development of mitigation strategies.
- Review marketing materials, disclosures, and product offerings for regulatory compliance.
- Lead the tracking of internal audits and regulatory examinations, from initial planning through final reporting and follow-up.
- Monitor audit findings and ensure timely resolution in collaboration with department heads.
- Maintain documentation and reporting systems to track audit progress and outcomes.
- Support regulatory changes and assess their impact on Bank operations.
- Research federal and state laws and regulations to provide timely and accurate guidance.
- Support updates to policies and procedures in response to regulatory developments.
- Works closely with department management to interpret and implement regulatory changes.
- Serve as a liaison between business units and the Compliance Department to ensure consistent application of compliance standards.
- Help administer the Bank’s regulatory compliance training program, including annual updates and progress monitoring.
- Co-chair the Compliance Committee and participate in other Bank committees as needed.
- Identify training needs and recommend improvements to enhance compliance awareness
- Serve as backup to the Vice President, Compliance Officer when necessary.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Compliance Department.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking compliance, risk management, or internal audit.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field; advanced degree or certifications preferred.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance laws and regulations (e.g., ECOA, UDAAP, Reg Z, Reg DD, Reg CC, BSA/AML, CRA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software tools quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
