The Literacy Instructor will provide specialized support through small groups and one-to-one instruction, using structured literacy approaches such as Orton-Gillingham and Wilson Reading System. The Literacy Instructor will work closely with classroom teachers, academic support staff, and families to support student progress and promote a nurturing, inclusive learning environment aligned with Augustinian values of truth, unity, and love.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Certification or advanced training in structured literacy programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson)
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with students with reading difficulties or language-based learning disabilities
- Strong understanding of literacy development, dyslexia, and intervention best practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- A commitment to student-centered instruction and continuous professional growth special education or inclusive settings supporting language-based learning disabilities
