Company: Multi-channel retail (i.e., ecommerce/online) with significant store presence. 300m+, 4x revene in 2 years. High growth phase. Things are going extremely well and continuing to grow. 2026 is primed for a fantastic year. Partnerships with NFL and NHL teams.

Location: North Reading, 4 days a week in office.

Salary: 115-120k + bonus & equity

Additional Info: This reports into a former Big4 CPA that we placed there about two years ago. She was already promoted. Will manage a Staff Accountant that we placed last year. Placed a ton more people who love it (Senior Analyst who was promoted for Manager, Manager of Sales Ops, Controller who was promoted to VP of Finance. They all love it here!

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role will be responsible for overseeing the core accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting that complies with GAAP, and managing and building out processes, controls, and best practices across the business, with a focus on inventory, COGS, revenue, and AP. You will manage a small team, partner cross-functionally, and play a key role in month-end close, audits, and process improvements.

This role will also assist with tax and compliance items and help with various other ad hoc projects in a high growth environment.

  • Lead and improve accounting policies, processes, and controls in line with U.S. GAAP
  • Oversee inventory and cost accounting, partnering closely with operations to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
  • Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Support annual audits and compliance initiatives
  • Drive automation and system enhancements in collaboration with IT
  • Mentor and develop a lean accounting team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of public and/or private accounting experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with inventory accounting, ERP systems (Net Suite preferred), and high-growth environments
