Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Senior TIG Welder – Aluminum & Stainless Steel Furniture Fabrication for high-end furniture, console, and custom structural fabrication. This role demands expert-level TIG welding skills with aluminum and stainless steel, precision finishing standards, and the ability to deliver cosmetically flawless, structurally sound welds in a production environment.
- Perform expert-level TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel furniture components
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication prints
- Fabricate frames, cabinets, tables, consoles, and custom components using advanced metal-forming techniques
- Meet high-end cosmetic finish standards with smooth, uniform beads and minimal distortion
- Operate press brakes, saws, grinders, and finishing tools
- Ensure precise fit-ups, joint preparation, and fabrication sequencing
- Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to improve quality and efficiency
- Inspect welds using visual standards and measuring tools
- Mentor junior welders in TIG techniques and material fundamentals
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- 3+ years of TIG welding experience with aluminum and stainless steel
- Proven work on high-end furniture, architectural, marine, or custom assemblies
- Expertise in aluminum alloys (5052, 6061) and stainless steels (304, 316)
- Proficiency in TIG welding parameters, heat control, and distortion mitigation
- Strong skills in fit-ups, tight tolerance welding, and metal finishing
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with grinders, sanders, and achieving brushed/polished finishes
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a shop environment
- Experience with NAVSEA-grade, architectural, or premium commercial furniture manufacturing
- Familiarity with CNC-cut parts, press brake operations, and fixture-based production
- Leadership or mentoring experience
- TIG welding certifications a plus
- Must be able to lift over 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a shop fabrication environment
- Must be able to stand, bend, and move for extended periods
