Job SummaryThis position is working on a heavy industrial construction worksite. The Journeyman will work with the job supervisor to complete projects under contract. A successful candidate will be able to collaborate with a team of professionals to complete these projects within the projected deadline and under budget.
Responsibilities- Constructing, fabricating, installing and dismantling form work of fixtures of metal, wood, and other accessories, rod-busting and concrete finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions.
- Document, plan, and perform work activities independently.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
- 2 years of form setting, rod-busting and concrete finishing experience on an industrial construction jobsite.
- Extensive knowledge of industrial construction practices, procedures, techniques, tools and equipment, materials, specifications, quality control, cost control, and adherence to applicable building codes and must be proficient at reading blueprints.
- Must be able to clearly explain steps and provide clear directions.
- Must be able to complete and complete the paperwork required for purchase orders, time sheets, etc. and answer questions about the construction processes for field staff and other subcontractors.
- Must be willing to embrace the company’s core values.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Outside most of the time.
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
- Limited working surfaces.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
- If driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability are required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
