Maintenance Technician — Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
Position OverviewMaintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. The role involves maintaining equipment and infrastructure to ensure optimal production conditions and performing preventative/predictive maintenance tasks.
Primary Responsibilities- Ensure implementation of all maintenance policies, SOPs and procedures in manufacturing activities.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance services of equipment in Production Plants, Utilities, Air Conditioning Systems and FF & FA System promptly in line with the planning communicated by the Supervisor.
- Operate and maintain utilities such as Chillers, Air Handling Units, Air Compressors, etc.
- Support personnel (operators) as needed to complete specific work. Assist with machine changeovers, as required.
- Be available to be called in for repairs on all shifts.
- Check for problems on equipment and/or infrastructure; organize work following diagnosis and estimated repair time.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies, in accordance with diagrams, manuals and manufacturer specifications.
- Hands-on maintenance experience of various pumps, blowers, vessels, piping systems, conveyors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Hands-on experience with material handling equipment such as hand pallet trucks, forklifts, stackers, drum lifters, etc.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of PLCs, HMI and instrumentation-related work.
- Read P& process and utilities.
- Understand interlocking logic of equipment or systems.
- Experience with electrical utilities such as PCC, MCC, Metering Kiosk, Breakers, etc.
- Ability to analyze repetitive breakdowns, identify root causes and plan eliminations.
- Coordinate with vendors to execute maintenance jobs effectively.
- Notify the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager of required spares; implement corrective actions for audit points as directed.
- Support factory pest control plan and related activities.
- Knowledge of 5S and ISO standards.
- Maintain machinery to optimize availability, uptime, efficiency and capacity utilization.
- Record readings for electricity, water and diesel consumption per maintenance instructions.
- Maintain effective shop floor discipline and maximize results from available resources.
- Familiar with permit to work and LOTOTO systems.
- Document maintenance repairs (service reports, checks, calibration plans, etc.) and maintain technical records (electrical and mechanical drawings, maintenance checklists, history cards).
- Carry out operations in compliance with legal and company policies on EHS, storage and housekeeping.

Minimum Requirements- ITI (Electrician/Mechanical) 2-year full-time or diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in maintenance and utilities.
- Knowledge of Permit to Work System.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit drawings for PCC, MCC and utilities.
- Willingness to work on-call when required.
- Willingness to work in shifts.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and related computer applications.
- Skills in mechanics (AODD pumps, pumps, gearboxes, machinery repair).
- Understanding of instrumentation and calibration procedures.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills; willingness to improve systems and adapt to new technologies.
- Preference for candidates from the chemical industry.
- Ability to respond to demands and make quick decisions.
