Role :Engineering Manager – Oil & Gas Manufacturing
Location: Ras Al Khaimah, UAE
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting oil & gas and heavy fabrication projects based out of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The role will own the design, drafting and technical delivery for static equipment, piping and structural engineering, ensuring compliance with international standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor and manage a team of static, piping and structural engineers, designers and draughtsmen (India and UAE design offices).
- Plan, coordinate and oversee all engineering activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality drawings and documents.
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings and calculations for static equipment, piping and steel structures.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes and standards (ASME, ISO, API and project-specific requirements).
- Work closely with Project Management, Procurement, Production and QA/QC for smooth project execution from proposal to final deliverables.
- Monitor team performance, conduct technical reviews, provide coaching and support training/competency development.
- Drive standardisation, best practices and continuous improvement in engineering workflows, templates and checklists.
- Ensure robust documentation, revision control and knowledge management for all projects.
- Manage engineering man-hours, resource allocation and schedules, flagging risks and bottlenecks early.
- Ensure compliance with internal HSE, quality and company policies in all engineering activities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
- 13–15+ years of total engineering experience, preferably in oil & gas, heavy fabrication or EPC environment.
- Minimum 5 years in a lead / manager role handling multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong technical background in:
- Static equipment design (pressure vessels, tanks, columns, skid packages).
- Piping layout and design for process plants.
- Structural steel associated with process plants (pipe racks, equipment structures, skids).
- Proficiency in engineering and 2D/3D tools such as AutoCAD and either PDMS / Smart Plant / SP3D or equivalent.
- Hands‑on experience working with ASME, ISO, API and similar international codes and client standards.
- Experience with pressure vessels, skid packages and heavy fabrication projects.
- Exposure to both onshore and offshore oil & gas projects is an advantage.
- Age around 37+ years, with demonstrated maturity in handling clients and cross‑functional teams.
- Proven leadership and team management in a design/engineering office environment.
- Strong project planning, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
- High focus on quality, compliance and detail in engineering deliverables.
- Strong communication skills, able to interface with clients and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Problem‑solving mindset, able to make sound technical decisions under schedule pressure.
