Data Science Intern, PAI to be in PA Spring House

- Intern / Co-op term:
June to August 2026. - Full‑time requirement: 40 hours per week.
In this role, you will join the Data Science and Digital Health organization within Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine, focusing on leveraging large‑scale single cell transcriptomic data in the context of Neuroscience.
You will be responsible- Collaborate and work closely with Data Scientists and Scientists to investigate disease‑associated cellular states and derive biological insights.
- Perform advanced analytics to investigate how disease risk variants alter cellular states.
- Apply single cell methods to analyze cellular state trajectories with respect to clinical disease progression and disease‑related endophenotypes.
- Follow all best practices for code version control and reproducible research.
- Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Data Science, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in single cell transcriptomic analyses using Python‑based methods.
- Fluent in Python.
- Experience with code version control using Git.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Solid foundation in Neuroscience single‑cell analytics and modeling.
- Strong background in Neuroscience cell type biology.
- Strong communication and scientific presentation skills.
- Exposure to cellular state detection and analyses.
Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H‑1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long‑term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long‑term status that does not require company sponsorship.
The expected pay range for this position is between $23.00 per hour and $51.50 per hour but will be based on candidate's program year, discipline, degree and/or experience. Co‑Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company‑sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the plan. Co‑Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year;
