Job Description

J&J Innovative Medicine is currently recruiting for a Sr Director Commercialization Excellence based in Raritan, NJ.

Overview

The Sr Director, Commercialization Excellence will support strategy development throughout the development continuum including early development, registration, launch and in‑market. The leader will build and strengthen organizational capabilities to maximize portfolio value, defining product innovation opportunities from discovery to launch to end‑of‑life to optimize lifetime value of the asset and serve more patients. They will focus on early development and pre‑registration deliverables, champion a team of individuals to deliver commercial support under a single point of contact for a given therapeutic area, and improve experience for colleagues by elevating cross‑functional and regional collaboration.

Key

Remit of the Commercial Excellence Team
  • Global Brand Strategy – partner with DAS teams to create an integrated Global Core Asset Strategy that incorporates products from pre‑launch through post‑launch. Ground commercial strategies in insights, apply Marketing

    X best practices, and prepare for milestone investment decisions, long‑range planning and business planning.
  • Asset Innovation Plan creation to protect value of asset innovation, including indication evolution, posology, technology enhancements, formulations that address patient unmet needs. Work in partnership with GCSO Marketing, Medical, Market Access, CMC, DPDS, IP Legal, Regulatory, etc.
  • Marketing Shaping Plan creation, including validating asset bold ambition, issue identification, prioritization, leverage point identification, and compliant metrics tracking. Collaborate with GCSO Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Advocacy, Communications and Key Regions.
  • Asset Naming – deliver naming best practice across assets in development through generic naming and trademark creation and approval.
  • Global launch planning – collaborate with GCSO teams to build effective and innovative go‑to‑market approaches for compliantly competitive and flawless launches. Ensure global launch readiness in all aspects of product development, from labeling and launch sequencing to packaging and naming.
  • Accelerate organizational capabilities – modernise Marketing Excellence and Launch Excellence approaches for consistent utilisation across GCSO teams and elevate asset strategy creation to propel winning product launches.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA, JD or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceuticals business.
  • Understanding of drug development processes and commercialization.
  • Understanding of pricing and access environment desired.
  • Track record of leading highly matrixed, cross‑functional teams of high‑level managers and executives.
  • High learning agility and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Strong collaboration across geographies and functions and strong communication skills.
  • Global mindset and proven ability to partner cross‑culturally and regionally.
