Position Summary

Responsible for installation of electrical systems to project specifications under the direction of Electrical Journeyman and Foreman.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Installations of Raceway Systems to meet project production standards
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks
  • Pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
  • Installation of small electrical equipment and supports
  • Attend safety meetings and complete safety paperwork daily
  • Demonstrate safety as a top priority
  • Basic knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Understanding of basic electrical systems (low and high voltage)
  • Learn project specifications and install electrical systems to those standards
  • Look for ways to improve safety, quality, and productivity
  • Install systems in a neat and workmanlike manner
Education And Work Experience Requirements
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • NCCER Certification/License (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in electrical helper II role
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Be knowledgeable of MIC Health and Safety programs and project-specific regulations
  • Participate in daily toolbox meetings with crews and subcontractors
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior
  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Perform basic arithmetic as needed for measurements and weights
  • Carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form

Hours

This is a full-time position typically scheduled to work 50 hours per week. Schedule subject to project requirements.

Physical Demands
  • Work up to 12-hour shifts; perform physical tasks in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds; climb, balance, reach, and maneuver in confined areas
  • Maintain stamina for repetitive tasks; work at heights with fall-protection as required
  • Wear PPE (safety shoes, gloves, glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.)
  • Vision and hearing capabilities required; coordination of eyes, hands, and feet
