• Traveler eligibility:
  Travelers must live 100 miles away from any facility
• Permanent staff:
  Must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
• Case types:
  Ortho, Podiatry, Neurosurgical, Pain Management, ENT
• Case types (continued):
  Total joints, ORIF, Microsurgery, Laminectomy, Fusion, Discectomy, ACDF, Perc TAL for Club foot, Pain injections
• Required certifications: RN: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Education requirements:
  
  RN - Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing;
  Registered Nurse - South Dakota Board of Nursing
• Skills:
  
  RN:
  Circulation experience in Ortho/Neuro cases; ENT case experience
• Unit support:
  Phlebotomy yes; IV/VAT Team no;
  Resource Nurse yes; RT no;
  Hospitalist no;
  Anesthesia/CRNA team present
• Charting system:
  Epic (notify CRT if traveler lacks EPIC experience for consideration)
• Floating: RN may float to Rapid City Hospital OR if needed
• Orientation: 1st day computer training; 2-3 days training with a preceptor
• Scheduling:
  Weekend rotation not applicable
• Call:
  Typically twice per week; details discussed during manager interview
• Holiday expectations: 2 of 4 major holidays (NY, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th)
