Overview
Are you looking for a part-time job with flexibility and extra income? The Medication Technician at the Pennington County Jail may be for you!
The Medication Technician administers medications to Pennington County Jail inmates. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Scheduled hours:
Saturday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm and one evening shift a week from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm.
- Administer medications for inmates.
- Document medication administration.
- Push a medication cart between locations within the Jail.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all county policies and procedures.
- These job specifications should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive duties of the positions. Incumbents may be required to follow any other instructions, and to perform any other related duties, as may be required.
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Preference will be given to those with military, public safety and/or security experience.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Work is typically performed indoors in a correctional facility. This is a potentially volatile environment with high accountability.
- This position may be exposed to contagious or infectious diseases or irritating chemicals.
- Work requires the use of protective devices, such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
- This position will include close interaction with inmates.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and in person.
- Ability to push/pull a medication cart for up to four hours per shift. When fully loaded, the medication cart weighs approximately 200 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crouch and lift light objects.
- Must be able to enter data and operate a phone.
