Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/Endovascular position, requiring specific expertise with TAMBE and PMEG procedures and a current SD or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
• Work in a hospital-based Cath Lab/Endovascular setting within the CVOR department
• Patient population consists of adults requiring open and closed endovascular procedures
• Typical case load is 1-2 procedures per day in one procedure room, with a new hybrid cath lab/OR opening spring 2026
• Procedures include TAMBE, PMEG, TCAR, TEVAR, TAVR, TMVR, aortoiliac femoral femoral angiogram, and femoral bypass
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Siemens and Philips X-ray and hemodynamic systems
• Shifts are 10 hours, variable, typically, with 40 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required, typically every other or every third weekend
• 24-hour on-call coverage required, with likely on-call every other or third night (1-2 times per week)
• Floating may be required to assist within the Cath Lab for peripheral and structural procedures
• Scrubs are provided
• Responsibilities focus on delivering RN care for complex endovascular cases and assisting with hybrid OR procedures
• Charge nurse support is available within the Cath Lab
• No patient prep or recovery duties are required for this role
• Initial orientation consists of four 10-hour shifts with a preceptor
• Holiday coverage is required, typically working every other holiday
• Flexibility and a willingness to learn are valued by the department
• First-time travelers may be considered with appropriate skills and management review
• RTO requests require manager approval
• Free parking available onsite
Requirements
• Active SD or compact RN license required
• Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
• At least 2 years of experience in a procedural area is required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Direct experience with TAMBE (thoracoabdominal branch endoprosthesis) and PMEG (physician modified endovascular graft) procedures is mandatory
• Cath lab and endovascular procedural experience required
• Experience with moderate sedation and monitoring sedation with gtt titration required
• ICU experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with endovascular approaches
• Epic EMR experience is preferred
• Applicants must live outside a 100-mile radius from the facility; no local travelers allowed
