Senior Project Manager – Power Delivery (Utility Construction)
Location: Onsite in Rapid City, SD (or Englewood, CO / Princeton, MN) – Up to 30–40% Travel Across the U.S. Central Region (including some weekends)
Salary: $/yr – $/yr (range provided by Bright Minds)
Bright Minds’ national power delivery client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in utility and electrical construction to oversee large‑scale transmission, distribution, and substation projects across the Central U.S.
The ideal candidate will have full lifecycle experience managing Design‑Build (DB) and Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects from contract administration and scheduling to field execution, financial management, and client relations.

Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including prime contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, forecasts, and budgets to ensure profitability and on‑time delivery.
- Coordinate with Construction Managers, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
- Lead weekly and monthly project meetings, reporting on milestones, risks, and opportunities.
- Oversee material control, invoicing, and project overheads.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Train, mentor, and support Assistant Project Managers and junior staff.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, fostering repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Drive project closeout, warranty administration, and lessons‑learned documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of project management experience in utility, transmission, distribution, or substation construction.
- Proven success managing DB/EPC projects in the power delivery or utility sector.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and equipment for high‑voltage work.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other project management tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- High level of integrity, organization, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 40% (including some weekend travel).
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screen, background check, and MVR.
