Job Description:
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in a mixed unit setup divided into pods. The role requires handling complex ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. Must be comfortable working a 48-hour week and have strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care for complex ICU patients with conditions such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-surgical cases, and trauma.
- Manage hemodynamic lines, ventilator settings, telemetry, and administer IV medications including vasopressors, sedation, and paralytics.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel. At least one prior travel assignment required.
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications are mandatory. TNCC must be obtained before arrival.
- Experience with Epic charting system and comfort in high acuity, fast-paced environments.
- Completion of an approved nursing education program and holding an active South Dakota RN license.
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT is strongly preferred.
