Unit Details:

• 39 ICU beds (MICU, SICU, CICU, TICU – mixed acuity)

• Patient Types:
  Medical, surgical, neuro, cardiac, trauma, ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, post-surgical, post-cardiac cath

• Ratios: RN 1:1 or 1:2 (acuity dependent)

• Support: 1–2 CNAs per unit + mobility float aide, 2 charge RNs overseeing all ICUs, 24/7 RT, intensivists coverage (3 days/2 nights), APP coverage nights

• Floating: ICU to ED or other adult units if needed

Orientation:

• Hospital orientation

• 1 twelve-hour ICU shift + 1 eight-hour ICU shift with preceptor

Scheduling:

• Days & Nights available, 36 or 48 hours per week

• Weekend rotation: every other (not guaranteed)

• No on-call requirements

• Holiday RTO not accepted

• Up to 7 days off approved if contract extended

• Blackout:
  No RTO during Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (first 3 weeks in August annually)

Requirements:

• Active RN license in South Dakota

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience (excluding travel) preferred

• Prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers not accepted

• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (must be obtained prior to start if not already held)

• Epic EMR experience required

• Skills:
  
  ventilator management, telemetry, proning, hemodynamic lines, vasopressors, sedation, paralytics, critical drips, strong assessment and critical thinking, teamwork in fast-paced ICU/trauma setting

• Advanced experience preferred:
  Impella, IABP, CRRT
