Position Summary:The Records Technician is responsible for capturing high-quality diagnostic records that are essential to the orthodontic treatment planning process. This includes digital X-rays, intraoral and extraoral photos, and 3D scans. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and enjoys working closely with both patients and the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet patients and make them feel at ease prior to records appointments
- Capture diagnostic records including:
- Intraoral and extraoral photographs
- Panoramic and cephalometric X-rays
- 3D iTero or intraoral scans
- Ensure image quality and accuracy of all records
- Upload, organize, and label patient files in the practice management system (e.g., Dolphin, Cloud9)
- Maintain sterilization and cleanliness of records room and equipment
- Assist with initial exams and new patient onboarding when needed
- Support clinical staff in managing patient flow and scheduling follow-ups
- Comply with OSHA, HIPAA, and radiation safety protocols
- Perform equipment checks and report any maintenance issues
