- Implementation of the agency treatment philosophy on the living unit.
- Develop and implement programs and services that achieve treatment objectives for each resident.
- Promote quality services by supporting child care staff.
- Provide care and services for children as an integral part of the team.
- Screen foster parents prior to child placement using standardized assessment methods that meet legal home study requirements.
- Require foster parents to undergo a medical exam, including a skin tuberculin test, before placement and at license renewal, unless health circumstances dictate otherwise.
- Ensure foster parents have the experience, characteristics, and temperament suitable for working with children and their families, providing care that promotes healthy development.
- Ability to teach youth care theory and practice to staff working directly with children.
- Knowledge of group processes and dynamics.
- Ability to lead and direct staff effectively.
- Motivate and collaborate with other professionals and agency employees.
- Interact with cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to the client population.
- Responsible To: Foster Care Supervisor
- Provide direct therapeutic services to children.
- Train and proficiently use the Interaction and Motivation program, consulting with staff and applying it in work with youth.
- Ensure close supervision of children per agency standards.
