Position: Substitute Clerical / Secretary

Substitute Secretary / Clerical - $16.99 per hour

Job Summary: To contribute to the efficient operation of a school office and building so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.

General Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Technology and typing skills
  • Working knowledge of math
  • Working knowledge of a Student Database system, preferably Skyward
ESSENTIAL JOB SKILLS

Staff member will effectively perform the following duties in a timely manner:

  • Knowledge of student and employee database system entries and reports
  • Perform usual office routines & practices associated with a busy, yet productive and smoothly run office.
  • Maintain student/staff records as shall be required.
  • Receive and route all incoming calls.
  • Registration of new students.
  • Familiarity and/or knowledge of office machines.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and community.
  • Knowledge of First Aid for minor scrapes and bruises and familiarity with the incubation period of childhood diseases.
  • Must maintain office confidentiality.
  • Friendly, warm and welcoming to all who enter the building/office. Greet people, ask them what they need help with, and welcome them to the building/office. You are the first impression of the building and the district.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, teachers, administration and community.
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Ability to use e-mail and office equipment effectively.
