Bookstore Cashier

Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Bookstore Cashier to work at a facility in Randolph, NJ . These are registry positions with our company,

Pay Rate: $16 / hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a courteous and professional manner

• Provide information about books, supplies, merchandise, and store policies

• Help customers locate required course materials using the textbook database or booklists

• Support students during peak periods such as the start of the semester, buyback, and graduation

• Assist with merchandising, restocking shelves, and maintaining displays

• Respond to phone and email inquiries regarding store hours, inventory, and orders

• Process returns and exchanges according to store policy

• Ensure store is clean, organized, and welcoming at all times

• Assist with receiving shipments and unpacking merchandise

• Work closely with team members to resolve customer concerns and ensure smooth operations

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Prior retail or customer service experience preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Comfortable using computers and retail software

• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

• Able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods

• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and peak times

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a campus or educational retail setting

• Familiarity with textbooks, ISBN systems, and course materials

• Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus

• Knowledge of inventory and POS systems

Work Environment:

• Located in a college bookstore setting with frequent student and faculty interaction

• Fast-paced environment, particularly during start and end of academic terms

• Collaborative team atmosphere focused on service excellence
