Position: Assistant Professor of Business (Tenure Track) (Entrepreneurship & Finance)
Position Overview

The Business Department at County College of Morris (CCM) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Business. We seek an energetic, student-centered colleague with a strong professional background in finance, capital markets, and entrepreneurship, and a demonstrated ability to translate real-world business experience into engaging, applied instruction.

Entrepreneurship Focus

The successful candidate will bring meaningful entrepreneurial experience such as launching, managing, scaling, consulting, and financing businesses, and will be prepared to teach across the business curriculum, including finance, investments, and entrepreneurship. Candidates with experience working with startups, small businesses, incubators, accelerators, or entrepreneurial ecosystems are especially encouraged to apply.

This position will play a key role in supporting CCM's new Center for Entrepreneurship and Culinary Science (CECS). The successful candidate will actively engage in entrepreneurship programming by mentoring student founders, advising student-led ventures, and integrating real-world entrepreneurial experiences into the classroom, including effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) to inform ethical business practices. Responsibilities include supporting pitch competitions, incubator-style projects, community-based partnerships, and interdisciplinary initiatives that connect business, finance, hospitality, and culinary entrepreneurship.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Instruction

Provide high-quality instruction in undergraduate business courses within the AAS and AS programs.

Teach a range of business, finance, and entrepreneurship courses using multiple modalities, including lecture, lecture/lab, hybrid, and online.

Develop and deliver engaging, real-world course materials that connect theory to practice, with a strong emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking, venture finance, innovation, global markets, and AI-informed business practices.

Integrate applied learning activities such as startup case studies, business model development, pitch decks, funding strategies, market validation, IPO analysis, and investment simulations.

Curriculum Development & Advising

Revise and develop courses to align with industry standards, program learning outcomes, and emerging trends in entrepreneurship, finance, and innovation.

Collaborate with department colleagues to design interdisciplinary and experiential learning opportunities, particularly those connected to entrepreneurship, hospitality, and culinary-related ventures.

Advise and mentor students on course selection, transfer pathways, internships, career planning, and launching or growing businesses.

Support student participation in business plan competitions, pitch events, incubator-style projects, and community-based entrepreneurship initiatives.

College & Department Service

Participate in department, school, and college-wide committees.

Support departmental initiatives such as student outreach events, career days, entrepreneurship showcases, pitch competitions, and program marketing.

Actively contribute to CECS programming by mentoring student founders, advising student-run ventures, and collaborating with internal and external partners.

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on student learning, retention, and engagement through specialized accreditation support and advanced outcomes assessment activities.

Innovation & Technology

Explore and implement innovative teaching methods and emerging technologies to enhance student engagement.

Use collaborative learning strategies, simulations, and experiential activities to promote applied, hands-on learning.

Encourage ethical decision-making, resilience, adaptability, and responsible leadership within entrepreneurial and financial contexts in AI-influenced markets.

Qualifications - Education

Master of Business Administration (MBA) or related graduate degree required.

D.B.A. or Ph.D. in business-related field preferred.

Professional Credentials (Preferred):

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Professional Certified Marketer (PCM) designation.
