Heavy Equipment Operator

* Arrange containers in designated storage locations, optimizing space utilization and ensuring stability.
* Use barcode scanning systems to accurately identify, track, and record container movements, including receiving, storing, and shipping.
* Conduct daily inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and overall condition, and perform basic maintenance tasks.
* Maintain clear communication with the Yard Supervisor and other team members to coordinate container handling activities and ensure efficient yard operations.
* Monitor container inventory levels and report any discrepancies or issues to the Yard Supervisor.
* Assist with general yard organization and clean-up as needed.
* 1+ year of experience operating heavy equipment, such as wheel loaders, in an industrial setting
* Valid driver's license and ability to obtain any required certifications for equipment operation (e.g., MSHA).
* Strong knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to heavy equipment operation, material handling, and railcar unloading.
* Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and spatial awareness.
* Ability to perform pre-shift equipment checks and basic maintenance.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal.
* Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to acquire and retain all necessary safety certifications

** High school diploma or GED
